Happy Father's Day

“There are many kinds of success in life worth having. It is exceedingly interesting and attractive to be a successful business man, or railway man, or farmer, or a successful lawyer or doctor; or a writer, or a President, or a ranchman, or the colonel of a fighting regiment, or to kill grizzly bears and lions. But for unflagging interest and enjoyment, a household of children, if things go reasonably well, certainly makes all other forms of success and achievement lose their importance by comparison.” –Theodore Roosevelt

*********************************************** Happy Father's Day to all of you lucky enough to still have your dad and to those of you living and loving the chaos in real time! My dad used to dance with me on the screened in porch. He wore an apron over his dress pants when he did the dishes at night. At 11:20 PM, my dad used to drive to Squog Fruit to get my mother the "morning paper" as it arrived. Every. Night. My dad drove to work and back in Boston every day so my mother didn't have to move away from her parents. He sang a beautiful "Danny Boy," made a mean cheeseburger, prized integrity above all, and died suddenly at the age of 54. I loved him beyond measure. Here's to sleepless projects...The Sweetheart insurance...tee ball...saving for college...waiting up...teaching 'em how to drive...and dancing on the screened in porch...
