New Year Ahead
Happy New Year, Bedford!
I sincerely hope that all of you had memory making moments throughout the holiday season.
With 2019 in the rearview mirror, I can't help but feel the anticipation of things to come. The New Hampshire House will be back in session as of January 8. There are 55 new bills headed to House Education, each requiring a public hearing and executive session within the committee, so it won't take long for things to ramp up! I am also involved in bills regarding clean water, enhanced protection for children and victims of domestic violence, and pesticide safety, just to name a few. As I have in the past, I will be sure to offer regular updates on things happening in the State House.
There were 1121 requests for legislation made before January 1. Not all of those proposed bills will make it out of committee and on to the House floor for a vote, but hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of them will! Please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org to share your opinions or concerns about any issues of particular interest. I may not always have an immediate answer, but I will do my darnedest to get an answer from someone who does.
I am an eternal optimist. Moving forward into an action packed 2020, I am hopeful that we can do good things for all of the citizens of NH, and I remain grateful for the opportunity to represent Bedford with the civility and respect we so desperately need at all levels of government.Remember that even as the snow continues to fall, Spring is never very far away!
Best to all, sm
