Youth Leading

Today, 5 high school students organized a demonstration on Rte. 101 to support the end of racism in America. I was there, and I saw some amazing things. I saw masked families engaged in ongoing conversations as cars honked their way by. I saw mothers with strollers, socially distanced from white haired seniors, both with hope and love in their hearts. I saw police cruisers applauded, thumbs up, returning the affection they were given, and I saw the seeds of change being sown. Right there on Rte 101.

I have a lot of feelings about what I saw, but I will say only this: Today, in Bedford, NH, the children led the way. We owe it to them to acknowledge our shortcomings and let them be the light. sm
